Ghent Square Pool
The Ghent Square Pool is the gem of Ghent Square, typically operating daily between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. At 180,000 gallons, our half-Olympic size pool can offer up to six lanes for lap swim. In addition to the main pool, there is a smaller wading pool for our younger members to enjoy. Other amenities at the Ghent Square Pool include ping-pong tables, lawn sports, and a grill that is available to use anytime the pool is open.
Access to the Ghent Square pool is limited to Ghent Square residents and Full Affiliate Members, plus their guests. Each member is permitted up to four (4) daily guests, and any guest beyond that is a $5/person charge.
Pickleball & Tennis Courts
Ghent Square has five courts dedicated to pickleball and three courts dedicated to tennis. All levels of players are welcome, including those who have never played before!
The secured courts are open year round with play based on available daylight hours. Ghent Square residents are allowed up to three guests during the week and one guest per day on weekends. Guests must be accompanied by a GSCA resident at all times. Members can pick up a gate keycard at the clubhouse next to the pool.
General rules:
- Rubber-soled court shoes only
- No bicycles, scooters, roller or in-line skates or skateboards
- No pets, smoking, intoxicants, or breakable containers
- No chairs or other items that will damage the court surface
- Non-players should utilize the greenspace.
- Be respectful of other players and neighbors
- Be courteous and limit playing time when the courts are full.

PICKLEBALL: If you’re looking for players, request to join the WhatsApp Ghent Square Pickleball group. Nancy McMahon also organizes a pickleball group that meets M-F at 8 am. Contact her at 757-641-4327 for more information.
Affiliate Memberships
Ghent Square offers affiliate membership options for people residing within the bounds of Granby Street, 21st Street, Brooke Avenue, and the Norfolk Southern Rail Yard.
- All applicants must be sponsored by three (3) Ghent Square homeowners from separate addresses (no tenants).
- Full Affiliate membership costs $700 and includes access to the Ghent Square pool and tennis/pickleball courts.
- Courts Only Affiliate membership costs $300 and includes access to the Ghent Square Tennis & Pickleball Courts.
Ghent Square Clubhouse
The clubhouse is available for private social use by Ghent Square residents. The clubhouse may be used for meetings, classes, etc., during business hours by prior arrangement with Associa Community Group management. A resident must sign the Rental Agreement and they must attend the event in its entirety.
Clubhouse Includes an 86″ TV with video conference camera and a full kitchen. Rental accommodates up to 40 people and can be rented for $100. Let’s Get Connected events for Ghent Square residents enjoy free use of the facility.
Reserve the clubhouse:
- Log into your TownSq account
- Select the Clubhouse Free or Clubhouse Only option
- Select a date and time(s)
- Include details of your event
- Complete and return the Terms of Usage form to community manager
The agreement must be signed and returned before a door access code will be issued. Feel free to contact management for assistance.
Tot Lot Playground
Adjacent to the Ghent Square Courts on Mowbray Arch, our “Tot Lot” offers swings, a climbing structure, and a slide structure. This fully-fenced playground is a great space for young members to enjoy the outdoors. The soft, bouncy surface of the main area is fun and safe for all to enjoy. Equipmen includes a swing set, climbing tower, two bouncy animals, two benches, and a picnic table.
