Streetlight Repair

If you see a streetlight that’s not working, please call Dominion Energy at (866) 366-4357. They’re responsible for repairing all streetlights and watch lights in the City of Norfolk. Most streetlights are located on the verges in front of properties.

If the streetlight behind your house is on Ghent Square property, it’s probably a “watch light.” Management is responsible for calling those repairs into Dominion energy. Contact management by sending an email to lrattan@communitygroup.com. 

When reporting streetlight or watch light outages, please provide the full pole numbers (tags found on the pole, ex: N0### XX###). If there are no indicators or they are not legible, please provide the closest address/intersection.

You can also find your streetlight pole number on the map at bottom of screen. Feel free to contact lrattan@communitygroup.com if you have an update for the pole.

Residents are encouraged to report streetlight outages to Dominion Energy promptly and often, if necessary.

Streetlights

Streetlights are paid for by the City of Norfolk (through our taxes), and Dominion Energy/the City of Norfolk are solely responsible for their maintenance, upkeep, and repair. Any light on a public road is a streetlight. This includes:

  • Boissevain Avenue
  • Botetourt Gardens
  • Colonial Avenue
  • DeBree Avenue
  • Llewellyn Avenue
  • Mowbray Arch
  • W Olney Road
  • W Princess Anne Road
  • Raleigh Avenue
  • Shirley Avenue
  • Westover Avenue

Any citizen is able and highly encouraged to notify Dominion Energy of a streetlight need, immediately – this does not need to be reported by the HOA. Please report any streetlight need to Dominion Energy promptly to ensure the shortest turnaround time possible.

Watchlights

Ghent Square has 78 watch lights around our private roadways. Watch lights are paid for by Ghent Square, and Dominion Energy is solely responsible for their maintenance, upkeep, and repair. Any light on a private (concrete) roadway is a watch light. This includes:

  • 696 Mowbray Arch Condominium Parking Lot
  • Boissevain Mews
  • Botetourt Court
  • Ferguson Court
  • Llewellyn Mews
  • Mowbray Court
  • Olney Mews
  • Pender Court
  • Van Wyck Mews
  • Westover Mews

It is the HOA’s responsibility to report watch light needs to Dominion Energy. Please report a watch light outage immediately to management by emailing lrattan@communitygroup.com to ensure the shortest turnaround time possible.
